Radiologist
One of the few Dentists in Ireland who has an advanced practitioner qualification in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology as stipulated by Statutory Legislation, SI 256 of 2018 (Completion of the second cycle at level 9 (MSc) on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)) as well as formal training in Medical Education.
Endodontist
Nuno Gonçalves, born in Lisbon in 1992, is a dedicated endodontist with a passion for improving dental health. He began his journey in dentistry at Instituto Egas Moniz, where he completed his dentistry course from 2010 to 2015. His exceptional work and knowledge led to an invitation to teach at the institute, mentoring new students from 2015 to 2019.
Eager to deepen his expertise, Nuno enrolled in a three-year postgraduate specialization program in endodontics, at Universidade de Lisboa finishing in 2022. His hard work and dedication paid off when he became a certified specialist recognized by the European Endodontic Society.
Endodontist
Stephanie graduated with honours from University College Cork Ireland in 2011. Upon qualification, she was accepted for a year of Vocational Training in the north of England. This invaluable position allowed for exposure to all aspects of dentistry with further one on one training and lectures. Stephanie was then appointed the coveted role of an oral maxillofacial senior house officer at Leeds general hospital. Within this position, she gained ample experience in oral surgery, oral cancer diagnosis and facial trauma.
Orofacial pain
John O’Brien is a dentist who had been practising for a little over 20 years as a general dentist, when in 1999 he spent three months at the Orofacial Pain Clinic at the school of dentistry at UCLA in Los Angeles learning about facial pain management. Following this experience he applied for and was granted a position in the two year full-time postgraduate course in Orofacial Pain Management at UCLA, a world renowned program in this specialised field. During his time in Los Angeles he was invited to become an assistant clinical professor in the newly opened Orofacial Pain Facility at the University of Southern California (USC), also in Los Angeles. He subsequently was awarded the status of Diplomate of Orofacial Pain.
Endodontist and DWSI Oral Surgery
Swati graduated from India in 2005, as the best of the year and was awarded for overall highest performance with distinction in oral surgery and periodontics. In 2007, she moved to the UK and completed MSc in Endodontics from University of Manchester with first class merit. During her time in Uk, Swati got an opportunity to work as a core trainee in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across several units in the NHS over 5 years where she gained invaluable training and experience in the management of oral surgical procedures including soft tissue biopsies, complex dental extractions, removal of impacted wisdom teeth and canines, other dento alveolar procedures, assisted in management of oral cancer treatments, management of nervous patients under local and general anaesthesia and intravenous sedation and emergency management of facial trauma. During this time, she was also nominated for a patients choice award. After years of hospital experience Swati then returned to general practice and has been working in all aspects of dentistry with special interest in oral surgery and endodontics. In 2023, Swati pursued a second level masters in micro endodontics from University of Turin, Italy. She feels passionate about all aspects of dentistry with special interest in the fields of endodontics and minor oral surgery.

Here at The Crescent Clinic we ask that you please provide us with at least 24 hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to offer this appointment slot to another patient who may need it. Any appointment that is cancelled 24 hours prior, will not be subject to charge.
Please be aware that if a patient fails to provide the clinic with 24 hours of a cancellation of their appointment a 150 euro fee will be applied to their account. In addition, you may have to wait several weeks before we can see you again, depending on availability. We understand that sometimes cancellations cannot be avoided, and we will take all valid circumstances into account.
This failed to attend fee must be paid in advance of booking another appointment. If you have 2 or more breaches of the cancellation policy in a 12 month period, you may be asked to pay a deposit to secure a future appointment. This payment can be made in the clinic by cash or card. Alternatively, this deposit can be paid by card over the phone. you need to cancel your appointment for any reason just give us a call on 01 853 0744.
