I qualified from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with an honours degree in Dental Science in 2010. After qualification I spent a year working as a house officer in the Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) where I gained valuable post graduate training. I then moved to the UK and worked for 3 years in general practice. I completed courses in restorative dentistry in the Eastman Dental Institute London, and it was during this time I developed my passion for endodontics and desire to specialise in this area. In 2014, I returned to Dublin and was appointed Lecturer/Registrar in the DDUH where I worked for 3 years. My roles mainly involved working in specialised endodontic clinics as well as working in A&E and supervising students. During this time, I also received a distinction from TCD for completion of a Diploma in Conscious Sedation. I then worked full time for two years as an endodontist in Oranmore Endodontics, a specialised endodontic clinic in Galway, before returning to Dublin to join the Crescent Clinic and 91 Endo team.
I have completed my Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (MFDS RCSI) and am currently finishing my thesis which analyses the best treatment option for traumatised permanent teeth. This is part of my 3-year Kings College London Masters in Endodontics which I am due to complete this Summer. I have published papers in the International Endodontic Journal (IEJ) and regularly peer review manuscripts for this journal. I have completed multiple prize-winning audits including one on the endodontic training of dental students in the DDUH. I am a member of the Irish Endodontic Society, European Endodontic Society and the Irish Dental Association.
Outside of dentistry, I have previously competed at international level in juniors equestrian eventing but now only partake at a very leisurely level. Otherwise in my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and taking part in occasional endurance events which have included a 70.3 mile Ironman triathlon and a 10K open water swim.
