Dr. Marie O’Neill qualified from University College Cork with an Honors Degree in Dental Surgery in 2007. Following graduation, she then completed two years postgraduate training at Edinburgh Dental Institute as a General Professional Trainee gaining experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. O’ Neill was awarded Membership of the Facility of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2009. In 2011 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma, with Distinction, in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin.
After working in General Dental Practice for a number of years, Dr. O’ Neill began a three year full-time Clinical Doctorate in Oral Surgery in the Dublin Dental University Hospital in 2011. In 2014 she graduated from her Oral Surgery Specialist training with a first class honours. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, in Oral Surgery, the same year.
Dr. O Neill is a registered Specialist Oral Surgeon with the Irish Dental Council.
Marie runs her specialist Oral Surgery practice from two specialist dental clinics and the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin.
Dr O’ Neill is a fully participating member of the VHI, AVIVA, LAYA Healthcare, GloHealth, ESB and the Garda Medical Scheme.
Dr. O’ Neill has a particular interest in the prevention of post- operative pain following oral surgery procedures, such as wisdom tooth removal, and this was the topic of her doctoral thesis while in Trinity College Dublin.
